Artists' Favourite Films (Frieze magazine, 1993)

Thought you might be interested in films favoured by artists circa 1993. As you'd expect, Welles, Kubrick and Hitchcock crop up a few times but there are some odd selections such as Martin Kippenberger choosing five from one director and somebody choosing Tommy (shock!) - personal taste, eh? Cindy Sherman gets the Edgy Taste award, not least for picking Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer, the most disturbing film I've ever seen. My five are at the bottom.

Mine:
A Clockwork Orange Kubrick, 1971
Bay of Angels Demy, 1963
The Birds Hitchcock, 1963
Apocalypse Now Coppola, 1979
Double Indemnity Wilder, 1944
