A small concrete poem I made few weeks ago. I don't believe bigger is better but one thing's for sure, bigger does impress a lot of people. 'Big' in concrete poetry can only be achieved by either collaging pieces together or feeding an A3 sheet through a carriage that will take it. Or creating, Kerouac-style, something on a roll of paper. You'd have to be mad to do it, but I'm sure some have. My Olympia takes A3 paper but I've only used it once so far. When you scale up that big and type each character looks even smaller. It's a daunting prospect, filling what looks like acres of space. For now I'm happier with A4 or smaller. This may say something about my character. Have I never aimed high in life? Have I never thought 'big'? No matter, I do believe, personal preferences aside, that modesty is admirable when it comes to the scale of art.
